Professional Perio-Medicine Program (Module 001)

This program will focus on the Basics and fundamentals of Dental Medication, oral medicine and periodontology with perio practical application using sheep heads, in addition to theoretical parts related to Oral lesions, Dental pharmacology, medically-compromised patient management and periodontology.

Learning Objectives:
1-Medications in Dental Use: Antibiotics and Analgesics. (Age & systemic condition considerations).
2- Medications in Dental Use: Corticosteroids (Know-what , Know-when).
3- Medications in Dental Use: Antiviral Therapy.
4- Medications in Dental Use: Antifungal.
5- Periodontal Management of Medically Compromised Patients.
6- Medical emergencies in the Dental Clinic.
7- Oral Biopsy: What is beyond?
8- What’s perio.
9- How to diagnose a periodontal disease.” step-by-by step diagnostic procedures and recognizing the newer classification of periodontal diseases Confirmed by European Federation Of Periodontology”.
10- How to treat a periodontal disease. “Journey through the periodontal pocket beginning from non-surgical management to the surgical phase”.
11- Role of locally delivered & systemic antiseptics in periodontal therapy.
12- Periodontal emergency in dental clinic (diagnosis & management).
13- Perio interactions with other dental specialties (Perio-endo/Perio-fixed/Perio-restorative/Perio-ortho).
14- Halitosis (causes & management).
15- Bony defects & furcation-involved teeth (Causes & management).
16- Guided tissue regeneration different surgical procedures.
17- Difference between full thickness flaps (Envelope flap & papilla preservation flap) and Partial thickness flaps (Coronally advanced flap, Laterally moved coronally positioned flap).
18- How to harvest connective tissue grafts & free gingival grafts.
19- Bone graft & membrane placement techniques.
20- Types of sutures “Single sling , figure of 8 & continuous sling”.
21- Minimally invasive guided tissue regeneration techniques (MIST) &(M-MIST).
22- Functional crown lengthening.
23- Frenectomy , frenotomy.
24- Functional crown lengthening.
25- Gingivectomy, gengivoplasty.

 Perio-endo: (Diagnosis, causes of different perio-endo & perio-endo problem and Management protocols.
 Perio-fixed: (Prosthetic considerations in relation to the gingiva, Pre-prosthetic periodontal precautions and protocols before beginning in preparation).
 Perio-restorative: (How to deal with deep subgingival restorations without affecting periodontal health).
 Perio-ortho: (Orthodontic treatment of periodontally involved teeth, Management of mucogingival problems before orthodontic treatment, gingivectomy, gingivoplasty, frenectomy, frenotomy, Orthodontic treatment periodontal complications and management. (Dehiscence & fenestration).
 Halitosis (causes & management).
 Bony defects & furcation-involved teeth (Causes & management).
 Guided tissue regeneration different surgical procedures.
#Fifth day: 11 December
(Practical part)

#For Non-Egyptians:
Early Bird (till 31 October): 250$
Late Bird: 300$

Cancellation Policy:
– In case of cancellation:
1- If the cancellation is from the organizer, the full amount will be refunded.
2- If the cancellation is made 4 weeks before the date of the course, the full payment will be refunded.
3- If the cancellation is made 3 weeks before the date of the course (More than/equal 21 days from the date of the course), 75% of the payment will be refunded.
4- If the cancellation is made 2 weeks before the date of the course (More than/equal 14 days from the date of the course), 50% of the payment will be refunded.
5- If the cancellation is made one week before the date of the course (More than/equal 7 days from the date of the course), 25% of the payment will be refunded.
6- No refund of the total payment of the course in case of cancellation is made within few days before the course (less than 7 days from the date of the course), but it is possible to send another doctor to attend the course instead of you.
